About the event
Mental Illness is a rising crisis in the United States. Our young people, already stressed by worries of their future and ability to prosper, social media bullying, fears of living on a dying planet, and more, found themselves pushed deeper into fear of their future during the COVID-19 shutdown. Add to that the scourge of stigma that encourages them to stay silent and live in denial of any developing illness. This is not okay, but it is okay to not be okay. Â In this class, we'll talk about the basics of mental illness, concerns regarding our youth, and the negative effects of stigma, and what you can do to make it all better. Children and youth ages 11 and up are welcome to attend this class. and we will have a baby sitter available for younger children.Â
