Our Programs
Peer-Led Resilience & Recovery
Recovery is a “process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live self-directed lives, and strive to reach their full potential” (SAMHSA).
Peer-Led Resilience & Recovery, also known as Peer R&R, includes a suite of services based on evidence-based practice:
-
Family-focused Education and Peer Support Services designed to adapt to each family's specific needs through group and individual family sessions;
-
School Crisis Prevention Training to help teachers identify, mitigate, and refer families to mental health and/or addiction services as well as recommendations for bringing Mental Health Literacy Curriculum into the schools so students can self-identify;
-
Mental Health Literacy and Crisis Prevention seminars tailored for Corporations, Businesses, Religious Organizations, Clubs and other groups help spread knowledge about mental health and addiction and make the workplace and community groups kinder, more supportive places for everyone.
-
Community Outreach seminars, workshops, and self-care activities that build awareness, break down stigma, teach mental health literacy and crisis prevention, and encourage families and individuals to seek treatment early.
-
In August 2023, we will begin offering services for Individuals with major mental illness and/or brain disorders, substance use disorder (SUD), or both (COD) who need Peer Recovery Support.

Peer R&R includes culturally sensitive service delivery by professional Peer Recovery Specialists from the BIPOC and LGBT+ communities. Although we are all the same at our cores, we understand that is is important to receive services through the lens of cultural competence.

Advocacy
Stigma is perhaps the biggest, most devastating influence on whether people seek care for their mental illnesses. People are shamed, so they don't seek care. Parent Caregivers become isolated because others don't understand, and so much more. That's why Advocacy is a big part of our mission delivery.

Truth of Mind Theatre Festival

In June 2023, we're having our first Truth of Mind Festival in the Kennedy Theatre at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, Ohio. Our intention to educate the public about mental illness and addiction (dual diagnosis). This year's award-winning play, "People, Places and Things" by Duncan MacMillan is about addiction, trauma and family. Taking place in a rehab center, it is perhaps the best portrayal of the devastation of addiction in a drama. Tickets are on sale in now at the Playhouse Square Box Office.
